I just started riding with a mp3 player lately.

Let's see...

Pixies
Modest Mouse
Ted Leo
Arcade Fire
Strokes
Beck
West Coast Rap (Dre, Snoop, 2pac etc.)
De La Soul

And for when I really need it...
Fugazi
Rocket from the Crypt
Thermals

I did not think anyone on this board would listen to Fugazi or Rocket. Just last week I found my Drive Like Jehu CD. Good stuff.

Allright Dell and Chelle - I knew there were some reformed punkers in the group. Well, maybe reformed is too strong of a word...

XM 53 Fungus baby

No music for me when I ride though.

Well Von Diggity, I'm late getting into Fugazi. Just have a few albums. But the Hot Snakes are also good if you like Rocket and DLJ.

I don't think my iPod mini battery will last the entire CC route, but we'll see. My RIDE playlist has mostly metal, some alternative, some rap, some techno. Metallica, GnR, Nirvana, Eve6, Fort Minor, Linkin Park, Eminem, Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Jimmy Eat World, lots of other random stuff. Including Dramarama!

I was starting to get scared there for a minute. It took until the 2nd page to see Metallica pop up. I haven't ridden with music since waaaaaaay back in the day, but I think that if I were going to do something like CC or VQ, it'd definitely be a nice way to loose track of time and distance for a while.

Does anyone find that when you ride with both ear phones in, you feel somewhat isolated and disconnected from the terrain? When I used to wear ear phones, I could only ever ride with one in at a time, otherwise it felt like I was riding with blinders on.

Schecky,
Thanks for the link. I'm thinking that "I want to be sedated" would be suitable for the ride, as I'm sure that will be my feeling (heeheeh)

You're welcome.
I always figured that old gap band song would be a good way to start the climb up BlackStar.

limpbizkit and "good stuff" should never ever be used in the same sentence.

(this is a thread from last year, but I just stumbled across it so.....)

haha, that would be me. Started rocking when I left from aid station 1. I wore the light headphone types so I could put them kinda halfway on my ears so I could hear outside too. Coming down Trabuco I figured I could cover my whole ear and really rock because no one was in front of me or behind me and I was a blazing super stud. Wrong!! Some guy caught me and I pulled over to let him pass. Hopefully he wasn't there too long while I was in oblivion! (I don't think he was) Actually listened to the tunes a lot less this year, had lots of company along the way, which was better than tunes any day.

I loaded some singles first, then albums, here goes;
Singles....
AC-DC ; who made who
AC-DC ; sink the pink
AC-DC ; for those about to rock
hendrix ; crosstown traffic
Maiden ; wrathchild
King's X ; dogman
Metal Church ; metal church
Metallica ; no leaf clover
Queensryche ; eyes of a stranger
Nugent ; hammerdown
Godsmack ; sick of life
Bruce Dickinson ; the tower
Van Halen ; atomic punk
Now came the Albums...
Megadeth ; rust in peace
Megadeth ; countdown to extinction
Megadeth ; hidden treasures (99 ways to die was perfect!)
Megadeth ; united abominations
Halford ; live insurrection I
Halford ; live insurrection II
Dream Theatre ; six degrees of inner turbulence
Dream Theatre ; train of thought
