I think every mountain biker should ride with a bell of some kind. I like the idea of a bell because I don't have to remember to ring it like the kind that mount on your bars. I have been riding with them for so long I don't even hear them anymore. I figure if it prevents one run in with a hiker/animal it is worth the noise.

I would totally be down with paying $10 for 2.

I was not kidding about a silver Zen Prayer Bell. I do not like the annoying clang of cheap bells. If I have to hear something other that the natural noises, let it be something soothing. It's a inter peace thing...I do like the noise of my knobbies hitting the dirt. That is why I like my Singlespeed...I oil the chain every ride to keep bike noises to a minimum.

Keep the Peace!

I didn't realize you were such a Zen Master Dean? After a quick search I can't find any pictures of a Zen Prayer Bell. Do you have any pictures Dean?

No I have looked all over the net. I need to stop in at the Transcendental Meditation Center next time I am near Swamies.

Then I could get really good riding one handed so I could use the hammer to ring it.
