STR Jersey Design Contest

WHAT?
I wanna get jerseys done by the CC/VQ date so lets get the ball rolling. First step: get a sweet design made!

WHY?
Because STR needs a nice jersey.

TERMS:

• unlimited entries allowed
• don't have to use all the STR colors, but try and use at least the brown somewhere
• be creative!
• open to anybody registered on STR
• the design doesn't have to be exactly perfect. Voler's designers can do the touch ups and sizing and what not
• You can decide to do the design off the raglan or set-in style, it's up to you.

Contest due date yet to be determined.

HOW THEY'LL BE JUDGED
No real guidelines to what the winning design should look like. Just think to yourself: "is this something I would want to wear out on the trails?"

PRIZE
The prize for the person who's design is choosen will be:

1. one free jersey once they're made
2. $50
3. Price Point Bottle
4. Price Point T-Shirt
5. Price Point Socks
6. Sette Amp Saddle
7. Sette Lock On Grips
   

Prizes will only be awarded if the shirts are produced.

After the contest is over and a design is chosen we'll start a new thread and get pre-payment thing going.

Download this package. It contains the STR font, art, colors, templates for the jerseys, and design specifications. Don't stress too much on the design specs though. It's in Illustrator format. Let me know if you need a different format.

Some tips that I think would look cool:

• Small logo or "SocalTrailRiders.org" on the back of the shirt, centered, and at the bottom. You see this part of the shirt when climbing behind someone.
• Color on the side looks pretty nice. Broncos have that sort of thing in orange.
• jersey doesn't have to be all brown. can be stone colored, white, tan, or any other color

Just random tips/opinions from me, no need to use them. Be creative!

Bad news though - Voler apparently can't deliver until 3rd week in May!!

Does anybody know of other companies that do quality custom jerseys?

I have a Hot Shoppe club jersey. It's not my favorite riding piece of clothing. I think they only have a roadie cut.

FWIW - I don't have a Voler jersey, but I do have some 'empty beer' shorts (yes, huggies). They are very comfy, have long legs and stay in place.

I"ve got a couple of the Hot Shoppe jerseys, That's what Epic Riders and the Homers used and I'm really happy with the way they turned out. The moto style is far more comfortable to me, but I'm sure others have their preference. The good thing about them, is you can order different styles in the same art pattern as long as you have at least 6 requests. George another thing that can help off set the cost is to ask the LBS's to sponser us, they can write it off as a business expense and you couldn't ask for better advertizing. This helped knock 10 dollars off per jersey for ERMTB. We could also go directly to some of the OEM's and see if they were interested. Give them the link to this site and let them see the interest that goes on here. Some of the locals that maybe interested, Jensens, Shimano, Oakley, The Path, and they don't even have to be local. Just some hints.

Try Custom Sublimation, I don't think there is a minimum order. They just did the Cal Poly teams jerseys, pretty cool looking.

Update: Looking into Pactimo and Hot Shoppe Designs as possible producers of the Jerseys. Also . . . PricePoint has been generous enough to toss in some goodies for the winner. I updated the first post.

Anybody have art drafts or anything? I'll toss up the template we're using once I figure which company to go with.

Right now it's a free reign type of thing since I haven't nailed down a company to do the jerseys yet.

If you use the template in that package (or any other template) and win the contest, it'll be fairly easy to adapt it to another template.
