I got into ss originally because it was all I could afford - the good ole college dayz - and where I am from its flat as a pancake...no need for squish or gears back then.

What's the point of SS'ng anyway? I don't get it. The guys(and gals) I see riding them walk the steepest climbs (that the gearies make), and they are spinning like mad on the flats.

The Noobzz maybe walk em!! and I've seen many SSers that can kick da living duck out of any gear monkey on the flats!! it just depends what size of gears they use thats all.

I've never even ridden a SS, but after racing some 24 hour races, I have learned not to say anything derogatory about them, unless Jose's riding it!

BD, I had the same opinion of SSing as you, until a bought and starting riding one. My opinion is that the people that bag on SSing are usually the people that have never tried it. Contempt prior to investagation.

Now if you would have prefaced your statement, I used to SS and this was my experience, you would not be getting negative responses. With your statement, there is the posibility that you are just tring to stir up things. Would not be the first time here... BD you are new to the site and don't risk getting the Troll label. This is not MTBR, most of the people on this site know each other and we ride often together.

Besides between your handle, not signing your name to your claim, and lack of where you live in your signature, already has me believing that you are a Troll.

I have to say, in FoShizzle's defense, I've never known him to be a vindictive or malicious person. He's actually quite the sensitive guy. Not the "crying on the beach while watching a sunset" type, but you get to know a guy after racing on a 24 hour team together.

I think he was looking for a sequel to Broke Back Mountain, but I told him he was barking up the wrong tree. Honestly tho, he's good people. Don't throw the rope over that low hanging tree branch yet...

Afraid I'm gonna have to take a raincheck (no pun intended). I'm gearing up right now for a Tour de Santa Monica. Los Robles to Sycamore and back. 40 miles of prime ST that does quite well post-rain.
