I don't know if going up or coming back but there is a area around Saddlebag Lake, between Tioga Pass and Toulumne Meadows that I want to ride/explore. It does not make sense to get that close to Yosemity and not spend a day there.

I think I'm going to have to talk my wife into either a) camping in the area this summer or b) letting me go for a week. I doubt I'd have to talk too hard about going to Lake Tahoe, though.

If you camp, call and reserve a spot at Nevada Beach and Campground...it is on the Nevada side of the Lake. That way you will only be a mile or two away from us. You will be able to ride your bikes to the Casino's. There is even some nice single track in the campground.

Pics are from the campground. Ya those are my tire tracks in the sand and the Ski Runs of Heavenly Valley in the background.

Duuude, that looks nice. We have a camping trip currently planned for Shaver Lake in mid August. Mabye I can swing a couple days and hook up with y'all in Tahoe, too. Have to see how much money and time we have.

Isn't that all you have when you're a teacher?

Glen, I checked campsites at Neveda State Beach they are half gone. I e-mailed a friend in Tahoe and he said those will be gone soon. If you want to come you can not wait to make plans. August in Tahoe...very popular. Two years ago I waited to long and ended up in a Motel 6. That is why I made plans in December. Dump the Shaver Lake plan go to where the goods are at.

Zephyr Cove also has camping, with lots of stuff for the kids to do, but not as close to where I am staying....not biking distance.

Good point. I'll probably reserve a spot, just in case. It doesn't cost that much if you have to cancel. Thanks! The Shaver Lake is a family camping trip with a few other families in my extended family. It wouldn't be cool to cancel it just so I could go to Tahoe instead. My kids are looking forward to it. (Even though I agree with you in principle!)
