Default My new Transition DirtBag

My name is Mike and I'm an EBAYAHOLIC. Damn Ebay I'm always getting stuff I can't afford, "but it's such a great deal man, I'll be saving money". That's how I justify it anyhow. Now if I can just find a couple grand in my sofa cushions I'll be set. Until then here's my future big bike.
2004 Transition Dirtbag with Dangerboy Rockers. Brand New.

That's bad-ass Mike!

You have a spot reserved on the shuttle wagon.

Why the 'Zocchi decal on the seat stay and a Romic shock?

OMG!!! That thing is BEE YOU TIF FULL.

What's the specs on that puppy? What do you plan to surround her with? A frame like that deserves nothing but the best.

Thanx. The travel is adjustable from 6-7". Considering that I spent my dining room furniture money, it will be surrounded by the bike stand, kitchen and livingroom.

Thats sweet! I briefly spoke w/one of the guys from transition and he was super nice and helpful. Does anyone have any personal experience on a dirtbag or bottlerocket? Im very intersted in how the frames are.

Sweet ride!!

I too hate Ebay. I always find stuff I don't need but can't live without.

Friggin' internet.

Ridden the Preston. Very stiff travel. Not plush or light like a heckler. Over built tubing for max strength. Not a light bike but one you could trust for the nasty hucks. Good welds and a really short toptube.

The Preston owner, says the whole line of Trasitions' are over built and stiff in travel , with good to very good stiffness in the swingarms. Also customer service is top notch.

It's not a bottlerocket, but it does pretty good for a hardtail...

The bike now rolls on some 2.375 blings and sports a 66rc2x at 7" up front along with a front derailleur. Everytime I think I want a fully suspended bike (and there are plenty of times) I just lean back a little bit further and this thing seems to get through any of the stuff I have the balls to try. I'm sure I could hit bigger stuff with a full squish after becomming confident in the suspension; but this bike is surprisingly accomodating for being a hardtail. I weigh well over 250 with water and gear and the Vagrant doesn't feel flexy at all. Surprisingly, it feels pretty nimble for its weight and long top tube when you start going down hill or trying to rail turns. The geo on my bike is the most dialed thing I have ever ridden (including all of my BMX rigs)... for me. The second I threw a leg over the bike, I knew I was gonna be stoked.

As for Transition's stuff as a whole I can only speak for the to the Vagrant and customer service which was spot on. Great guys to talk to and they actually ride. If I were to start saving for a new frame, I'd probably be torn between the dirtbag and the bottlerocket. Just somthin about the rocket's geo that looks good to me though. They have one of the best crash replacement policies going, and asside from the frames being a little hefty, there isn't much to find fault with.
