I can dress for the cold, no way can I beat the heat. I do not like to ride when it gets into the 90's. I am short sleeved in the 60's. I do not mind riding in the 30's as long as the sun is out. I dress in all black and can always get warm if I find a patch of sun. The 20's gets to be a problem dressing warm without sweating. Yesterday I rode in the 30's with leg and arm warmers, a short sleeved jersey and a long sleaved jersey and was sweating too much, so I paced myself uphill to not get chilled on the downs. Never brokeout the jacket I brought with me.

Riding in the very cold takes some time to get the clothing down right. If you sweat you will not dry out, bring extra clothes. Get your clothes wet, you will have a miserable time. That said, I still love the krisp clean real blue skys at higher elevations; the wind in the trees, sparce vegation with knarled wind tortured trees, the views into the next state, and places few people ride.

By the way Mr. Painfreak how about a trip to (Mt. Elden) Flagstaff when we ride Sedona next month...during the day, it should be in the 20-30's by then.
