Question Best Pedals for the Knees?

During my little hiatus to help my knee recover I have come to realize that not all companies create their clipless pedals equally ( duh ) So I've set off to find a better fit for me, But which ones? I'm riding with Shimano's M520's on my commuter and Shimano DX's on the trial bike. I've been looking at the Smarty's and Candy's from Crank Bro's as replacements.

Does anyone have any experience with Crank Bro's?

Are they "Knee Friendly" ?

Is there any other brand I should take a good look at?

Does anyone Have a spare pair I could borrow / buy?

Thanks for the help ,
Gimpy

best pedal for your knees - why would you peddle with you knees?? j/k

take a look at speedplay frogs. They have quite a bit of float. I use em and never had any issues. Will require different cleats as well (meaning you can't just jump on someones bike and try- if you purchase they will be with pedals)

linky -> SPEEDPLAY : HIGH PERFORMANCE PEDALS

I'll give em' a look.

Anyone know If Crank Bro pedals come with cleats, or are they a separate purchase?

I have an old set of Time Atac pedals(black and yellow) and they have an abudance of float. Again, Speedplay frogs are also a good choice.

Speaking of knees--My left knee has been sore for a week and a half. MRI shows torn medial meniscus! Doc says rest, anti-inflamitory meds and physical therapy for 3-4 weeks, if not better.......SURGERY! Hope not. It sucks when parts wear out.

Pahika, I have a pair of Candy SL's you're welcome to try. A bit too much float for me, but might be just what you're looking for.

Doh! Nevermind, just sold these.

I've always heard/read that the Frogs have the most float, with Crank Bros and Times after that.

THe best pedals for your knees are the DX's you already have. Spend your money on some Fiveten impacts.

Pakiha,
Being a bit of a newbie to the site, I not sure what happened to your knees, and me being an old git (in age, not in enjoying life) I use "Glucosamine Sulphate (for joints)", and it seems to work wonders, maybe this will not apply to you but may work well for others my age like !!!!!!!! I nearly mentioned your name then *****.

I ride Candy SL's and will never buy anything else but Crank bros, ever, ever again. They rule. Plenty of float after you break the clips in a little.
