Default 5 Spot build finally completed....

It took a while to get the brakes but the build is finally complete except for trimming down the brake hoses. I've got 2 rides on it so far and I'm surprised how plush the DHX air feels. Built it up myself with a little help fine tuning the front deraileur. it's not all that flashy but still practical. Here's the build specs.

Bike setup:
* Frame Size & Color: Medium, Black
* Fork: Fox Float RLC 130mm
* Brakes: Hayes Mags 180mm FR /160mm RR
* Cranks: Shimano XT
* Front Derailleur: Shimano XT
* Rear Derailleur: Sram X9
* Shifters: Sram X9
* Pedals: Shimano 959
* Stem: Thomson 100mm
* Handlebar: Easton Monkey Lite
* Seatpost: Thomson
* Saddle: WTB Laser V Ti
* Bottom Bracket: Shimano Integrated
* Cassette: Shimano XT
* Headset: Chris King NoThread Set Red
* Grips: ODI Ruffian Lock On / Red Clamps
* Front Tire: Kenda Nevegal 2.1
* Front Rim: Sun Ringle SOS 32h
* Front Hub/Skewer: Sun Ringle XC / Sun Ringle QR
* Rear Tire: Kenda Nevegal 2.1
* Rear Rim: Sun Ringle SOS 32h
* Rear Hub/Skewer: Sun Ringle XC / Sun Ringle QR

Weight: 29.8 lbs - A little over my goal of 27-28 lbs but still under 30. Maybe a lighter wheelset down the road.

Nice Frank. Now that you have a lighter bike, will you be coming on more of our X-country rides?

Congrat's on the beautiful bike Frank. Very solid build. I love my Spot. It's such a versatile bike. I predict you'll put some bigger tires on soon - weight be damned.
Some I9 wheels will make a good Xmas present

Watch.... this will turn into the bike you ride the most. You're going to love this bike. I was wondering how the XT cassette will perform with the Sram derailuer, any issues? Isn't the Sram and the XT just a couple dollars apart? Anyways very good build.

I'm keeping the 2.1's for the Spot. Not sure if I would go with I9's but I've been eyeing the new Hope Pro II hubs for the RFX.

2 rides on it and I already love it. The rear shifts smoothly without any issues with a cassette left over from a previous build. The new X9 shifters have that XO kind of feel but not quite XO's.
