Hey guys I just picked up a new-old stock 2003 Turner DHR frameset. I hear on MTBR.com that are several failures out there. Has anyone here broken or cracked 03 frames,swingarms,links.etc. More than a little concerned about building this thing and racing it. Any help or info would be great. If so what is your experiance with there customer service. HPIM0982.JPG |

MTBR.com is where I got the bad news. The bad thing is I am a heavy rider at 205-210 lbs. I am not a hucker really but I want to be able jump off of a rock at Fontana in a race without fear of a break. I have spent the last couple hours reading,it seems like everyone was happy with CS so I hope I can get this sorted out this week. I was really excited to build it up they are such pretty frames. I just sent an email to the warranty dept. at Turner and I hope to hear back from them this week. Thanks for your feedback,I will keep you guys posted.

Von-Diggs is correct. The problem with cracking at the shock mount was corrected with the '05 and new models. I wouldn't worry about the warranty as Turner CS is second to none. I'm positive DT will take care of it. The only drawback is if you crack your '03, the new '07's won't be available until sometime in January.

I was actually glad to find the tube version DHR ,I really liked those but could never find one I could afford. I just got lucky on this one but I guess thats why it had never sold. I have sent in a couple of emails to Turner so maybe I will hear back from them Mon. or Tues.
Keep you posted. |

Update on the DHR; Greg the warranty guy at Turner returned my call first thing this morning (very impressed with that). And was very helpful and shared lots of info with me regarding the frame. So as it stands they are going to send me the new larger rocker links for the shock. They seem to think that the main pivot housing cracks were very isolated and was not the main worry. Greg says build it up, race it, and if anything bad happens they would step up WITH FULL WARRANTY. I'm good with that, so I guess I'll start up the build and hope for the best. Can't wait to get it out to Fontana for the trial run. Thanks again to everyone who gave me info. I really am glad we have such a great forum like this to share info. |
