southridge DH

is it possible to ride south ridge on a non race/practice day? any one have any info on this place? thanks.

Yes, you can ride the DH course and all of Southridge's trails on non race days. We rode the XC course on a Saturday earlier this spring. As for getting there, I don't remember the exit, but it's the exit right after the Steel Mammoth on the side of the hill if you're on the 60 fwy heading east. Check Geoladders.com, the route should be there.

Off the 10 Frwy. it's the Cherry Ave. exit, head South, turn left at the McDonald's which I believe is Live Oak, park at the park on the right. From the 60, exit Country Village Dr., head north, turn right on Cherry, turn right at McD's, etc. Anyone interested in meeting up for some DH runs out there Sat. am?

ahhh nuts, theres a gate? so i guess thats a no to DH runs on non race/practice days huh? i live off the 10 about 30 minutes from cherry, and i heard about this place. if theres a way to go saturday ill go, im itching to see what this bike can do, or more importantly if i can stay on it.. haha.

I'll see what I can do, but not likely. However, the gate has been unlocked the last few times I've been there. Ryan, you can still do runs if the gate is locked, you should meet us there.

No, it's public land. They just don't want people driving cars up there.

Southridge is alot of fun. We were out Sunday its not so boiling out there now so its not so bad to hike-a-bike. The only thing is that there are so many lines to pick from. And you can park in the park and play on the nearby dual/4x track, kinda soft,sandy dirt but lots of fun if you have two or more guys. Like it was stated above its only locked to keep off roaders,jeeps out. The best part is not alot of hikers or dog walkers.

Hahahahahahaha, have you been to Southridge? They can't even stop the idiots from dumping trash all over the place. They are not concerned with mtb'ers. Anyways it's perfectly legal to ride there anytime you want.
