exactly...at that price point, TONS of options...

We're not in Kansas anymore...

We got a little bit off track and that's cool because I got exposed to some stuff that I wasn't aware of at the prices posted.

With regard to that Chumba; no offense to Ross or the guys that designed that rig, but I wouldn't pedal it regardless of the cost or travel. I gotta be able to look at my bike when I see it in the garage and think, "thats a nice lookin rig". Then there's the issue of price, and if I was going to spend that kind of $$, I'd just nut up all the way and buy a Morewood Shova LT to have way more bike than skill/stamina at this point.

FoShizzle,
Thanks for pointing out some options. I actually thought about the Reign a bit before I put the $$ down to order my Vagrant frame. I saw good feedback from folks here and on the monkey who snatched up the first batch, but in the end it's a little too steep for my tastes.

If the BBs weren't so high on those Banshee's I'd look hard into em. But the high standover combined with the highish BB draws me away.

So far I've learned that the "thowaway 67" would have been an even bigger waste due to the limpwristed nature of the frame. Cannondale Gemini's would be an option if I wasn't affraid to get a bike that was recalled by the MFG (which I actually think is an A class move and should be seen as proactive on behalf of Cannodale). And last but not least if I really liked the Ventanna and wanted to go that route, I should act fast to snatch up one of the straglers out there.

So pretty much, in the down n' dirty area of bigger travel choices for the cheap seatish budget, I'm looking at an IH Yakuza Ojiki new, a used Bullit, spend a little more and get a Ventana (note quite sure if it's got the beef, but it looks sharp as hell), or save for a while longer and go for the Bottlerocket. Of course I know my luck, and as soon as I've paid for a used Bullit, SC will have the new ones available for order

Luckily, I have a pretty competent HT and as soon as I go bigger on the fork, that will buy me some breathing room to really figure out what I want to do.

Hey Chris, have you checked out the Haro .357 ? Just saw it in a bike mag and thought of you cause you were looking at the single piviot, they actually have a few Single piviot frames

Those IH single pivots look really nice and at a good price too. I think the new Decline has a review of one of them. I think I'd go for one of those before I bought a used Bullit.
