Default looking for some trailwork advice

I don't know how many of you here ride the SM's on a consistant basis, but the trail known as Farmer's Ridge or Dead Car or the more current one heard recently Little Strawberry Peak, could really use some work done on it.

If you haven't ridden it before, but have ridden Strawberry Peak, the real similarity is the type of ledge you have to ride on to get to the bottom of the trail. The last couple year's rains have really taken a toll on this trail. A couple of sections are falling away from the hillside. They need to be "shored-up" with some kind of reinforcement.

I know it's going to take some money to fix it, because it's not just moving/smoothing the trail out. Though I don't really know who to notify, contact, volunteer my time to....nada.

I'm planning on going to the CORBA Fat Tire Fest this wknd, so that might be a good starting point.

Any other insight, knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
-tep

I've put a copy thread on mtbr, to cover my basis

Thumbs up

What's up tep. It's always good to know that riders, not only care about riding, but also care about the trails they ride on. I'm assuming you left a message with the CORBA Trail Crew on the CORBA website regarding trail work, so I'll give you two more resources. You can email Hans Keifer, CORBA Trail Crew Leader, directly at hans@otbmbc.com OR you can email Wendy Langhans, Director of Volunteer Programs for the SM Mt's Conservancy, at wendy.langhans@mrca.ca.gov (I'm sure she can give you some info on trail maintenance.)

Let us know if the ball gets rolling on this. I'm certainly down to get my hands dirty for the cause

Gecallo, thanks for the resources. I will do my best to introduce myself to Hans on Sat. As well, I'll drop Wendy a line.
