Hey, can I have some kool aid?

Not for me, for my wife. She crapped an adobe village when I told her how much a Stumpjumper FSR cost just before I got my actual first mountain bike. If I come home trying to get a frame only that cost as much as my complete bike she just might stroke out. Then, who'll watch the kids when I go riding?

Fo, question for you? I wonder why the Z1 Fork and not a 66. I have a Z1 Light on my 5-Spot and if I were to get a RFX, I would be putting a 66 Light on it.

Not that much more, but more than worth it. Z1 is not enough fork for that frame.

perhaps in theory....but lots of people, many better riders, are just fine with a 150mm on a Pack/RFX. Is marketing getting the best of us? I mean who (not me) really rides aggro enough to warrant the bigger stanchions more travel?

"Most" people on 5" bikes dont need 5" of travel......

Having said that, if I can get the 66 still I may do it but I just cant help but wonder if people (including myself) just get carried away trying to do the things that on paper seem to make sense.

sounds like that if money were not an object, the new 07 66 SL ATA with adjustable travel between 140 and 180mm would be spot-on perfect.

I'd agree till I got a 5" bike I didn't really think it'd do much for me, but it has. I can't believe some of the stuff I've been riding lately.

Default where have I been??

Mr. FoShizzle, though I have not ridden with you in quite a little while, I feel as if I completely missed something in our conversations about f/s bikes.

Where did this change of mind/attitude come from?

Are you still riding SS? or is this the only type of riding for you as of now?

drop me a line,
let's ride!!

nice frame,
looking forward to seeing it in action,

hey tep.

to make a long story short....through buying/selling frenzies over the past year or so, i have convinced myself that without a doubt:

* For XC or All Mountain types of rides, I will always take my 29er singlespeed

* For anything more manly than All Mountain where I would not want a hardtail, I want a longer travel FS bike, period.

even though the minority of time, i really miss having a bike that could handicap my girly descending ability (e.g., like when riding with freaks like you and upchuck)

They said the old lowers were twisted slightly so they replaced them. I noticed the fork was a little sticky at the begining of the travel but it really didn't affect it's performance. They gave it the "works" package and just by compressing it it feels like pure butter. Can't wait to give it a test ride when I get my rear shock back.

Sweet, I love the look of that fork, plus I want to be like Dean.

kind of like Cialis for mountain bikes. no thanks pito grande. i would lose too much sleep in deciding whether to get the 3" or 4" version, only to have it snap on me when i forget to press the precious lever.
