Default Help: Dog-friendly camping/hiking in SoCal?

Hey guys...

I'm trying to plan a camping trip, or maybe a short backpack (probably no more than 8-10 miles from the car) with a few friends, but I want to bring my dog. This is something new to me, I've only had him a couple months...but from what I can see, pretty much no state parks allow dogs.

Are there any nice cmaping/hiking spots near SoCal that are dog-friendly? Please let me know!

Although it may not have the 8-10 miles you're looking for...I know for a fact that Del Cerro in Palos Verdes is dog friendly...not too sure if any camping is allowed...but a hike down to the beach would give you some amazing views...of course to get to the beach you would have to cross Palos Verdes Dr., which can be tricky...

I was just camping at Barton Flats, about 25 miles from Big Bear, and there were quite a few people that had dogs camping with them. We had a black bear come to our site and eat all of our junk food . SART is right there, so you can hit up those trails.

If you're looking to go backpacking, I've always wanted to go up to San Gorgonio peak (same area), but not sure if you're allowed to bring a dog with you.

Mt. San Gorgonio is one place I've packed with dogs.
