Default Someone's getting a new bike

How long are you going to keep it a secret? Or are you going to wait until it's all built up and then just show up with it?

Calepic is going to be pissed. I just spoke with Chad at redbarn and couldn't pass up the offer he gave me. Looks like I'll be a new ____ ____ owner sooner than I thought. I wonder how the wife will take it?

I was kind of hoping for a white frame so she wouldn't even notice the difference.
When did you get married? And how come I wasn't invited?!?!?!

Just curious as to why you want to get off of the _____? That bike is burly and seems to be a good fit for you. Is this just a case of wanting something brand new? Hopefully this means we'll see you start hitting some hucks now.

Have you ever thought of getting a Heckler? ;o)

Craig, I bet you didn't tell your wife that her picture was to be posted on STR did you, I wouldn't either. You shouldn't have your wife pose for meaningless things such as this. Just goofin on ya. Dude, nice rack, where did you find such a picture?

So, I didn't even see this post, otherwise I would have jumped on it. Yes it's true, I called up Chad at Red Barn Cycles this morning and placed the order. I'm pretty pumped up, so please no bashing. Sucky thing is that I won't be able to build 'er up for a couple weeks. Good new is I'm heading south of the border for some fun.

If anyone has been in the market for a similar bike, Call Chad! Smoking deal I thought.

Robert, come on.... you know you like it. You're probably on the phone already arent you.

Pat you're riding style is getting more aggressive and that bike seems like a step backwards to me honestly. It is more geared towards xc'ish climbing and crap. I think the 5 Spot would be a much better choice with a more active rear suspension. Just comparing the two since that rear suspension is similar to the 575 that I had before and I could definately tell the Spots suspension was more active in the rough stuff.......but hey, hopefully it works out for you. So what are the plans for the ole Foes now?

It's all good Patrick. It's a nice bike and will be something different on our rides.

A word of warning though. Dell tried to be different and look what happens to him

What color did you end up going with big guy? I can't wait to check it out! Does this mean you are gonna still ride the Foes and do some hucking? Or are you swapping parts and what not?

Rob, thanks for the advice. We'll see I guess. I think it's too late, but none the less, I'm still pleased. As far as the Foes goes, I think I'm going to hang on to it for a while. What happened to Dell? The cactus gods yelled at him?

I ended up with the dark grey. I will have to swap over all the parts from the Foes over the the ML. I already think the AM1 will be too tall for the ML, so I think a Pike 454 is in order. Should be pretty sharp when finished I think.

no you're not. It's ok though. I can appreciate the honesty you hold the 5 spot in high regard and rightfully so. It may be a more aggressive bike, but looking at the two on paper, so does the ML. Time will tell. But, yeah it was a great deal I thought it was worth the try. I gotta learn what I like somehow eh? I am also a little put off with the standover height of the spot. The medium seems too tall for me, but the top tube seems correct. with the ML both are where I would want them.

hmm, after proof reading this seems as though im upset, but too lazy to re-type. meh.

You really have standover issues on a medium Spot? You do know that mine is a large right? Well I think the ML will certainly be a snappier climber compared to the Foes.....does it come with an RP3?

Yeah dude. CrazyFred is pissed at you for bringing up a SC into the Turner/Titus thread. You don't want that guy upset with you, he's crazy.

It comes with the RP23. Seems cool to me. And I didn't realize yours was a large. Thought medium. Oh well. At least now I can say it's because of the bike that I can't do the rock roll on T&A.
