Default SS Question

I have enough spare parts lying around to build another bike. I was thinking of building a SS for riding around for fun. I have an old Giant hardtail I could use but it doesn't have disc brake tabs. Jenson has the Zion SS frame for $249 as another option or should I just build up a 29'er if going SS?

Try more then one too. I wasn't comfortable on the One 9er (sorry Dean), but I loved the Kona K-9er. Personally I'm finding it real hard to pulling the trigger on this one. I love my Surly and don't want to give it up for the 29 er. Another bike in the quiver is just to much. Some are not getting rode enough and are getting grumpy and when they get grumpy they tend to make me pay, by bucking me off a few times during a ride, just to show they still want to be rode.

Good deal on that combo. Like PF mentioned, I'll have to try out a few b4 I pull the trigger on one. I liked the way Dean's bike handled the way he set it up.

Now with these two on 29er SS, the Thursday Marshall ride was 50% 29er SS.

Mike does have a nice Surly. We could turn it into a Surly 69er.

BTW … Khai and Romeo are getting pretty strong on those new rides.

Would you go with a 29'er SS if you didn't already have the Surly? I was pricing parts and it's way cheaper to buy a complete 29'er than to build one up. I could build a 26 SS for more than half the cost of a 29'er using my spare parts though.
