Question Good Body Armor

Ok, I'm relatively new to the mountain biking work, but i am now shopping around some more padding because the last couple of times I've gone downhilling, the only protection i had was a helmet so i got pretty beat up when i would eat it. so i was wondering if you guys have any recommendations of a good body armor or pads that i should look into, mainly for upper body protection and elbows and forearm type stuff. the cheaper the better.

I was looking at Six Six One, are there any other brands out there besides them, preferable a bit cheaper. thanks in advanced for any input you guys have

I have the 661 Race elbow, Race lite shin, and the Pressure suit. I've been using their stuff for 4 years and love it. Others brands you can check out are Roach, Azonic, Troy Lee, & Rockgarden. If you are going to be doing a lot of DH, I'd go with a full upper body suit.

yeah ill be mostly doing downhill, i like the six six one pressure suits, just trying to find somewhere i can get a good price on them. 110 is the cheapest Ive found them for. do you use the elbow pads and the pressure suit together? cause doesn't the pressure suit have built in elbow pads? like I'm thinking the SP-1 or SP-2 Pressure suit.

I use the SP-1 suit when racing DH or just the elbows and shins depending on the trail; except for this one last ride when I should of used armour.

I love my Roach Rally pads. Fox is ok, but I prefer Roach. Haven't tried any other brands.

what is a good price range for an armor suit, the cheapest I've been able to find is around 110. you guys know any brands that are cheaper or places that sell them for cheaper? or are there any local stores that actually carry and suits in stock to try on, i only found one place so far on PCH, cycle gear but they only have Dainese Suits that are like $250, you guys know of any shops that carry 661 suits or anything?

www.jenson.com - almost always the cheapest on the net. And they're located in Ontario if you just have to have it the same day. Otherwise you'll get it next day.
