thought it might be fun to see other peoples pix of them and their rides when they first started riding. here are a couple i dug up from 2002, check the STOCK Jamis Dakar that later suffered a crack chain stay on both sides.

Certainly not the "oldest skoool"....I think these are from Fall 2003: I had had bikes for years and had ridden occassional but this was after "the bug" officially bit.

And yes, that is a drop--though it's a small one--that I appear not to be rolling but perhaps even "hucking"....

This is as Old Skool as I can get: '02 Trek 4500. All my bikes were lost when my house burned down in Feb of '02, so I have nothing older. This was my first purchase afterwards, in May of '02. It's all stock in the first pic. The second pic is how it is today.

uh pacman,you didnt save the bikes before the house burnt? i think we need a sticker on the windows so the firefighters know we have bikes that need saving,like the "we have pets" stickers.

ok, I will play. I don't have pics of my really old bikes but here is my first DH bike. Spooky/FTW Project X complete with 24" doublewides and a 3" gazzy on the front. Gotta love that Rissie Champ up there too. What a beast that bike was.
