Default Need Riding Partner

Hi,

I need a riding partner specially "thursday nights" fully loop. I can ride the loop without stopping but not at a fast pace. I'll tell you how long it takes me to complete the loop in PRIVATE (PM). It's not the the group is not willing to wait for me. It's just that I don't want to make the group wait for me. I've been riding fully loop alone night/day for sometime. Last night I did notice something scarry under the bridge. It's the second time I notice it. I'll be needing a riding partener.

Love riding my bike but don't need to jump off anything. I don't mind fireroards or climbs. My pace is slow and if I see rocks I'll get off my bike (most likely).

Long rides are fine with me.

My favorite riding place is El Moro starting at the Ridge.

Don't mind climbing blackstar day or night. I still haven't made it to beeks.

Of course I am doing things to change and get better at riding.

My most important job is being a mom. As you can see I can't ride as much as I would like. So, I am still slow. Unitil the last child (Julia12) makes it to college.

I'll say that I do play it safe when riding. I need to go to work the next day. Drive two girls around etc. (one to the mall the other to trailheads).

If your kinda in my shoes but want to get better at riding. Just send me a PM.

PS. Dino Brown did I hear you correctly last night. Did you say if you catch Elvia? Free Beer

Don't let me catch YOU Dino!!! I let you go last night because you got older the day before.

Thank You,

Sorry for the mis-spelling on my title.

ezzyride - I started riding in May/June, and am still working on building up to be a better rider. I don't mind climbing, am a little more frightened of anything resembling a downhill, but will try it. I don't mind hopping off my bike if I feel too sketchy. Like you, I'd rather have fun and keep it safe.

I've been trying to find a female riding partner since I don't know anyone else at my level. The BF is too advanced of a rider for me and I often feel bad slowing him down or he zooms off and I'm stuck alone trying to catch up with him. I would like a riding partner who could push me along and I the same to them, without feeling like we're pressuring each other.

I've ridden Blackstar twice - made it to the top of Beeks the first time without stopping (but very slowly), second time had to turn around about 4/5 of the way up because I was on a time constraint.

Ridden El Moro twice - first time I crashed hard there (first ever wipeout) and didn't go back until last weekend and had a blast.

I usually ride Aliso - Cholla, Mathis, Coyote, been down Meadows once, Rock-It twice..

Have ridden Santiago Oaks and Peter's Canyon a handful of times, done the Fully Loop.. weird assortment of trails I've tried. I would like to try others.

Not much experience here for me, and I'm not shy about voicing concerns or going slowly. I'd just like to get better and have fun, and find a riding partner to do it with! If I found someone at a similar level, I think it would help.

Mtnkitty - I am sure you will have no problem finding a riding partner. Ohyeah, comes to mind. Ohyeah has really pushed herself and become stronger rider fast.

I've ridden Peters, Ridge, El Moro, Turnball, O'Neill, Los Pinos (somewhere near castaic), Whiting. I've walked at times (lot's of times). Luckily I've always completed my rides. Because I hate to make people wait, I learn the trails very well. This way I can go ride at my pace without the pressure of having people waiting. I do know how to fix a flat and fix my chain. If anything other than that happens to my bike, I'll be in trouble.

I am not really afraid of downhill but I don't take it fast. I take it slow and in control because - broken bones would slow me down.

I did alot of jumping stuff on the bike as a kid, I am no longer a kid. It's just not the same. My responsibilities are more important Julia and Stef.

Just curious. What did you see or is it just an inside joke between you and your buddies? Just nosy.

I'm always in and looking for someone to ride with, my boys are very advanced too!! I'm slow up - cautious, yet not too slow down...and always looking for a break I work from home and can sneak in a couple of hours in here or there.

Have you tried SCST? not any long downs and ups - but it really keeps you on your toes and definitely teaches skills! I just took my 9 yr old out there this weekend, he had a blast. Can't believe he toughed out most of it 3 hours of exploring.

Elvia, if you can get out to Marshall canyon, it is a good ride and I think you'd like it. Very pretty, starting out in the trees with one big ick factor hill (but not too big, especially if you have done I think I can). I haven't been there in a long time though.

AWWWW! Thanks Elvia! I just saw this today and that means a lot especially since I haven't felt like riding much lately (soo many things goin on).

Like Wrecker said, Marshall is SO MUCH fun! Especially the bottom part before you get to the fireroad and there's not really any climbing (I think its a very gradual incline though) and the creek crossings are AWESOME (I was so afraid of them until I tried them then they became my favorite part). Anytime you wanna ride Marshall let me know. We can do the lower part and see how we feel and decide whether we wanna do the fireroad climb or not. Just gotta do it in the afternoon now since the mornings are going to be SOOOOO cold!

I think that's who she noticed that concerns her. Remember, it is his loop.
