Yeah, I'm not sure if mine was manufactured in '98 or '99 - but either way - it's old. I just had it re-tooled - new fork, shock, brakes, drivetrain, cranks, pedals - basically just spent three times what I originally paid for the bike (bought it on ebay in '01 or '02). From what I understand this was an early DH-specific sort of bike - I wouldn't know - I was totally committed to a hard-tail ride back then - FS bikes were heavy, expensive, non-climbers (or any combo of the three). With the new goods - the thing now rides like a champ!

I went to a neighborhood party tonight.
One of the Dads collects and restores these: ![]() I tooled around on it. Pretty fun. 3 speed rear hub was very smooth. Needless to say it was pretty easy to manual. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raleigh_Chopper |
