Default SoCal Bike Shops

I apologize if this list has been posted already but I was wondering what some of your favorite local bike shops are? It seems I havent found one great shop yet that has everything. Either they have a good bike selection and not many accessories, or the other way around. Or, a ton of clothing but not much else. Just thought Id see where you guys shop!

Thanks!

Jordan

I've never been to the Path but tag along with VonDizzle when he goes to the bikeCo sometimes. Great high end parts selection and friendly people who like to joke around.

Bicycle Johns in Burbank are pretty good. Helpful & friendly. Good general stock. Lots of Roadies though...

I second the Jensons. I'm rather fed up with all the smaller bike shops. All seem to have terrible customer service or never have what I want in stock or have just plain idiots working there. If I have to choose one close to my house it would be adrenaline bikes in orange. But I only talk to Gabe there.

Jensons is only a half hour away too, or I'll stop on the way to the out-laws.

Oh yeah - forgot to mention JensonUSA. I don't really go there in person since it's a long drive. And why would I drive there if what I order gets delivered the very next day To top it off - go through the Jenson graphic on this site and we get a bit if commission (which could mean STR gear in the near future).

Incycle San Dimas usually has anything I need, and quick turnaround too.

Ladera Cyclerly isn't the cheapest nor do they have the biggest selection but they are pretty good on customer service/repairs (quick turn around and they loaned me a wheel for a month when a part was back-ordered) and they are super close to RSM (antonio and crown valley).

So. County Cyclery (Buy my bikes!) in SJC.

But I have to agree that the Path is probably the best overall area shop for expert service and good selection and worth the drive.

Default Since you are in South OC

You have no choice but the bike co. Its on bake parkway near the intersection of Irvine Blvd. They have everything you need, and stuff you dont know that you need yet.

While a few people have had great experiences at the Bike Co, I have to be the stick in the mud and say that in my experience at that place has been a dud. Either closed mid-afternoon in the middle of the week (with no indication of why ) or totally blown off when I walked around in there. Maybe if I was evident that I was going to drop big money I'd have been treated differently.
I've been meaning to give them one more try but each time I find myself heading to The Path instead....

Right on! I'm not saying I need a medal, a standing ovation and a red carpet rolled out everywhere I go. For the most part places around here are eager to please, I guess that makes those times when you don't get that seem worse than it really is.

Maybe I'm just biased, but the basic philosophies of hard-work and respect for the customer were engrained on me--maybe it took some pounding to get through my thick skull--early on as I grew up spending many an afternoon and most Saturday's working at my parent's office supply store...

Yeah, my buddy was ordering jersys from the local bike shop and over the phone he was told it would be 20 per jersey, so when he goes down there to get them they say its gonna be 35 per jersey. I told him you just shoulda said that another shop was gonna give you some for 20, but since they were a shorter drive you were gonna get the jerseys from them and they would either only sell them to us for 20 or we would have gone to Jensons and probably gotten them for 20. Jensons has the greatest help in the store too. Very knowledgeable

Since you're in OC, make the drive up to The Path for repairs or anything special order. Never been to the Bike Co so i can't comment on them. Supergo in Laguna had the best assortment on clothing but I haven't been there since Performance bought them. Jenson is the best for parts and closeout deals.

Default The Path

I usually go to The Path in Tustin, they know their stuff and they have pretty much everything you want in stock. If you're price conscious, just let the person know that another shop has it as "this price" and they'll gladly match the price. It saves me shipping costs whenever I tell them Jenson has it for x dollars.

The other shops I visit are Bike Co. in Irvine. Good shop, good service. But like Eco said, I've gone there a few times to find out they're closed. Adrenaline Bikes in Orange also carries a lot of high end stuff. If you like Yeti, Foes, and Marin, they've got tons of it there. From what I saw, their mechanics look like they know what they're doing.

In a way I'm glad I'm not the only one that happened to with Bike Co...I was thinking they might have seen me coming from a mile away and said, "Damn, here comes that a$$ from Texas riding a canadian bike...quick, close the doors and pretend were not here, eh!"
