So it took way longer than expected to finish building this bike. Then when it was finished I had to wait a couple weeks to get my first ride in.

Finished build

Had to toss the bike on the ground to get rid of any new bike karma.

Did a nice little ride before work. Early morning + moving fast + no goggles = watery eyes, and therefore might as well stop for a picture.

My back rim didn't last as long as I was hoping. I'm running my wheels tubeless with the DT Swiss strips and they are still holding air with this dent.

So the 8-speed on the SS hub works perfect. The derailleur clears the spokes, the cassette barely clears the spokes, and the chain barely clears the frame. The last thing that I need to figure out is my chainguide. It currently rubs the top plastic when I'm climbing. A bit of grinding, or swapping to a 32t ring from the 34t should hopefully fix that.

See you out on the trails.

I'm running 721's. I've been on the older 521's for years and think that the hard anodized finish might be a bit stronger.

I'm off Thursday's and Saturdays. Any other day and it'd have to be early morning or a night ride.

Eh, it's only a rim. I did almost get taken out by a deer at the end of my last run. Heard one took you out recently. I had a head on with one on my motorcycle and now get pretty startled by them.

And to Dino...No Sheep Hills yet. I think I would want to swap out the tires first. Maybe it's time to build up a lightweight, fast rolling jump wheelset.

I'm running the DT Swiss tubeless rim strips with 1 wrap of weather stripping underneath as a build-up. They are still holding air, so will continue to ride them until they don't hold a bead, or look like stop signs.
