Default ...If only

we could shoot stupid drivers! So I decide to go ride today after a too long of a stint off the bike. I'm heading down the street in the left turn lane behind 4 cars. As I'm making my left hand turn to jump on the fireroad to get on Serrano Cow trail, I see this idiot coming in the other direction pretty fast. I'm just past the middle of the intersection near the corner when the a$$ hat in the oncoming car makes his right turn. He/she/it never saw me until the last second and a two feet from my rear tire. As I'm going up the curb, they had the nerve to honk at me. They were lucky I was on the fireroad and moving to fast to go back and kick in their door. It's times like this when I wish we could just get rid of the stupid ones. Rant over.

Oh, the ride itself was ok. It sucks when you're outta shape and riding an SS. Just gotta do it more.

I've been seriously thinking about setting up a potato canon underneath my truck that I could fire while driving. Admittedly, I've put way too much thought into including having a rotating turret with an onboard camera for aiming. The triggering device is is simple. The only holdup is coming up with a reloader.

Sooner or later, I'm sure I'd get arrested, which is the only thing that has stopped me.

In the end...such as life. The more we let these things bother us, the more stress-filled life we live. It's not worth it.

Though dreaming of the potato canon relieves stress.

I've put a permit request in with the DMV to mount a 50 cal on the roof of my truck. I assumed that it would be a quick deal being as it's not concealed or anything but I haven't heard anything back yet. Oh Hold on, there's a cop knocking on the door...BRB

I had some old jerkov in my rear view mirror honking and flipping me off on the Fwy this morn. I was going with the flow of traffic. I don't tailgate... I regulate. Anyway, I let him stew before I made my offramp. He could have passed me on the left. I won't be intimidated on the road. Lots of fingers out there today!

i saw some a biker on the bike lane with lots of cars wanting to make a right turn. one of the drivers seemed totally unaware that there was a guy riding a bike and cut the biker off. since the biker was a hardcore roadie, he unclipped and kicked the car a few times and i was able to see the dents and starches from 50ft away. the driver was unaware that his car has just been kicked.

This is one reason that I don't buy a rode bike and decide to spin instead. There are just too many bad drivers out there to worry about. I see people driving into the bike lane all the time not paying attention. Or you get the idiot kids with their sport cars acting like total jackasses, or the teenage girls that try and talk on their phone and drive. I can't tell you how many times I have almost been hit by those two types of drivers. But I make sure every time I see someone in the bike lane that I go as far over as I can even if I have to split two lanes while I pass them.

If we are all such great drivers that never make mistakes, I wonder why there are still so many car accidents?????

Its reasons like this that I try to stay off the road as much as possible. People are just too stupid. People have trouble noticing motorcycles, let alone a bike.
I drive 45 miles each way to work EVERYday and have to deal with all kinds of nutty drivers, the LAST thing I want to do is trust those people to look out for me on my bike!!

Dude why do you need a reloader? Single shot is just fine, it will just make you chose your target with discretion...and plus you can just reload it when you get home...

Of course there is the whole Gatling potato gun approach.

Other thought when I ride a road bike, all sense are on high alert, ride with my head, eyes and ears on a swivel (yeah its a bit funny looking) and most importantly I don't trust anyone. ... but I still ride.
