Sorry I had to bail out guys, I got a case of Poison Oak Panic. Riding in and by PO does not bother me....falling of my bike into the bushes, I did not like but was OK with it. It was working on that bush for 5 minutes then realizing that it intertwined with poison oak. I was handling it up and had mucho skin contact before I realized what I was doing. I was trying to be carefull but the PO was well disguised.

Got home took long shower with lots of soap. Hope you guys are imune.

Here are a few pics, my cameras flash is weak and it does not do good in low light.

No worries Dean. Next time I think we will go down to Lower Winter Creek and hike up to the trail. Great day out there for those that didn't make it. Pain Freak and I cleared a down tree just before Hoegees and another large mess of a tree not to far up Mt. Zion Trail. We then tackled some good stretches of trail where the vegetation had pushed the trail onto the loose, unstable edge of the trail. We cut back the vegetation to uncover the original trail and did some good edge work. The trail in those areas looks great now. Dean that lopper tool of yours was great. Thanks for leaving it with us! I need to pick one of those up for next time.

I hope to get more people up there next time, 5-6 people would be very helpful. I am working with the ANF to get more tools and a key to the gate. Hopefully all that will be worked out by the next event.

Oh, Mike found my wedding ring I lost on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my bling bling Ti wedding ring from St. John back!!!!!!!!!!! Hope more of you can make it next time. I will try to give more advanced notice.

Yeah, we got a LOT done today. I'm real happy with what we accomplished. But what we need is 4 or 5 more bodies. We could get most of the brushing done and start fixing the trail where it's collapsed. The rebuilding will take a lot more time and we will probably need to pack in some wood for bracing.

Dean I went to the drug store and bought a couple more bottles of Tecnu. This stuff has always worked wonders for me. I'm real suseptible to the oak myself, but as long as I use this stuff, i get very little, if any breakout. I bought some alcohol wipes to bring with me from now on. I used the Alcohol also as soon as I got home. That was kind of sneaky how it was running in and out of those bushes along the trail. I found I'd done that a number of times. Once we started the climb to Zion though it was all gone.

BTW, Are you going to Pinos tomorrow?

Y'know, looking at that trail, I think I have to help out because it looks like a great trail to ride! Let us know, Maven!

A great, great trail - but poison oak is definitely Chantry's middle name.
Thanks to you both for working on this. (and congrats on finding the ring!)
