Donations for high school team needed (SD area)

Hi all,

Well, it looks like my school (in Chula Vista) now officially has a cycling club. Yay!! We are shooting for two main goals: support a mtb team (that will race in the new SoCal league), and build a pump track on campus.

We took stock of what our kiddos (25+ of them) have and don't have. Most of them do not have helmets. Some of them do not have a bike but are dedicated to learning and getting out there.

So, I am asking anyone in the San Diego area: if you have a helmet you'd like to donate (okay, it has to be in good shape, no crashes, etc) or better yet, a bike you'd like to donate (it doesn't have to be anything top-of-the-line...we aren't picky), please send me a PM.

We are willing to work on the bikes to get them in good working order, if necessary.

Thanks for your consideration. I know there are other schools in OC, LA, and even North County SD areas that are starting to get things in order for teams/clubs BUT I currently don't know of any other teams in metro SD that are forming (I'm trying to be careful not take away from anyone else).

Will you take parts, or is that too much of a hassle? I have a frame and an old hybrid that I'm probably just going to junk.
