Default Quick question on Chris king headset

Putting my fork back on...where does the white plastic washer go? on the baseplate below the bottom cup? thanks!

it goes at the very top before you put n a spacer or your stem on the steerer tube, so the top of the headset doesnt get scratched.. at least thats what i was told..

on top of the bearing cap and under the first spacer

I believe it's to prevent creaking between the top cap and the spacers or stem.

So that is where I am getting the creak from, I thought it was just something they included in the packaging to prevent the top bearing race from contacting the bearing during shipping. Needless to say, I didn't put it in upon installation and get an occasional creaking when I am torquing on the bars.

What they won't tell you is that it is really a sacrificial piece to the garage gods. That way you lose the little white plastic piece and not a shiny anodized part
