Default Lactic Acid not bad ? ! ? !

Amazing if it's true. It appears to be legit.

I saw that on digg today. Very interesting although I want to see more studies published by other scientists and some raw numbers.

LAcitc acid is a result of respirtion with co2. But it has to get converterted to pyruvic acid to be used as fuel useing the krebs cycle.

I bet vondork can explain that, he's all into the chemistry/biology stuff too.

Yeah, my strategy would have been to refer you to a biochem-dork (VonDork) or biochem book.

I think Dr.OCrider said it well, if not mis-spelled...

As far as it being "good" or "bad" is a matter of philosophy and perspective. It's "good" since our body/muscles need it, "bad" b/c it kinda burns.

I believe lactic acid is re-used within the body/muscles other processes. That conversion of NAD to NADH is a big energy producer, hence the "fuel" concept. I got hammered by the biochem prof on my committee during my prelims, so I won't be going on beyond that without consulting a resource.

Interesting article. The article concludes, I think, that "stress" training aka interval and endurance training, improves performance by building up mitochondria. So the bottom line is most people are training right but not necessarily for the reason they thought (to tolerate lactic acid).
