Hey guys,
I was just wondering if there is such thing around so cal area, I have a park tool set with all the major tools to repair a bike and an old bike I can work on however it would be neat to get a builder's perspective on bike maintenance/repairs. I bought a book but im just not feeling it. It would be cool if local bike shops offer small shops like that. |

I know REI has maintenance classes. I don't really know much about them but their web site says that the "basic" class is free of charge. The "comprehensive" class is $70 ($90 for non members, but for that price you might as well join for $20 and pay the $70 for the class) but includes wheel truing, adjustments on hubs, brakes, and drive train; bike frame and component inspection; and cleaning and lubricating.

There is a clinic on the 16th but I'm not sure if it's full. http://www.socaltrailriders.org/foru...nfo&e=1722&c=2

I agree with Cyanide41. I recently stopped by REI and was informed of the classes. I was told the pay class is pretty in depth and you work on your own bike. One of the sales reps said you actually go through the entire bike top to bottom. You can pick up a schedule at the counter that lists all of their events.

Hey fred, do you know if anyone will be covering more advanced repair stuff at your clinic? I'd be interested in having some help servicing one or both of my forks. One's a TALAS 32 (complicated, would need a talas tool), the other is a 66SL (easier, would need a BB tool)
