I for one thought your post was referring to tying off testicles so the male species would then die off, which is fine!
Just remember, this is a sensitive group and we do secret PM group hugs!

Thanks but we're happy with a simple registered domestic partnership. And I was kidding in my post Mr. Way too Sensitive".

I figured you were one of the guys atop the scaffolding 100'+ off the ground but the Rushmore thing sounded more intriguing to me and as long as your happy with your work then it is good enough.

Hey, next time you're in the six-two-six and you're a local 585U and you live on the north side of the street with your house number ending in 36, hit me up and we'll do a ride in the eight-one-eight. We'll def. KIR and do some serious DH'ing and hope not to go OTB. If we do, let's hope our celly's can hook up with nine-one-one and we'll give them our 411 and get us the hell out B4 dark or we're focked!

Peace and GLTY and GLTU!

Default My dimestore psychologist $0.02

I had a friend back in the early eighties that was an iron worker. I even attended a union meeting with him over in east LA one night (still not sure why). Having spent quite a bit of time with him, and then going to that union meeting, I feel like I kind of understand them a little bit.

Iron workers are kind of a unique breed and somewhat 'clannish'. You have to be a bit 'touched' to work the high steel in the first place and even more 'touched' to stay with it when you see your friends and co-workers killed and injured at a higher rate than most other professions. I think that's why they tend to look at each other as sort of an extended family and seek each other out to hang out when not at work. They understand each other and the lifestyle in somewhat the same way cops tend to hang with other cops.

After the first few posts, (though I had long forgotten the local iron workers union was 433) I had a feeling the union affiliation was with the iron workers.
----
On the other hand sickboy, most of the people active on this board could care less what someone does for a living. The bike is the cause that binds us. I have ridden with some people many times and still have no idea what they do for a living and don't really care.

I think some saw some exclusionary behavior on your part in the way you were reaching out looking for other iron workers to ride with. And then you felt maybe you were being subjected to the same sort of exclusion.

But, here's the deal: Once our work clothes come off and our riding gear goes on, as far as I'm concerned, we are all the same.

We're also not affiliated with any particular religion, ethnic group or political party. In fact, there are a lot of people on this board that may not associate with each other under other circumstances. We're just people that like riding mountain bikes and that's good enough for me.

Kumbayfrickenya, let's ride.

Obviously a union member, as is evident by his mastery of the english language!

Just kidding Sickboy. Don't mind the locals, they are actually very nice once they bash you a bit. Stick around and you will meet some really nice people.

PS - this is a bash on union members in general. Not you personally.
