Default Out of the mouth of babes ...

I unknowingly rode over a big wad of gum today. By the time I got home it was all over my bike. Spokes, brakes, gears, seat stays, chain stays, well you get the idea. Just about the time I'm going to smash my face into the garage wall in frustration my neighbors little girl (4 or 5 years old) wanders into the garage and says, "Hello Mr. Scott, what are you doing." So I show her the sticky mess that was my bike. She says, "Uck" and then tells me that when she gets her gum stuck in her hair her mommy uses ice to make it hard so it'll come out. (Light bulb starting to glow over my head). She then enters the realm of Mensa by telling my that her dad uses "compussed air" (sic) to clean his computer and that the can gets very cold. Now that light bulb above my head is glowing like a sun. I grab the can of compressed air and start spraying it on the gum, which instantly hardens and crumbles off my bike.

I take my hat off to the future of humanity ... oh yeah, as payment for her brilliance, we're going to Cold Stone for some ice cream.

The future of America is in doubt if we believe stories that make us feel good.

If gum is sticky why doesn't it stay on the tire? How does it get on the spokes?

The can gets cold when its nearly empty. Good luck on cleaning more than one dab.

Tell little girl that peanut butter works very well getting gum out of hair. My mom did this on a regular basis with my little sisters. Works great as my kids did it a few times when they were younger.
