Default Biker down (fatality) in CHSP

just saw a thread at mtbr so i just had to post it here.

a mtn biker crashed at chino hills state park this past weekend. he was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.

article is here.

really had to get this out here because of all the bikers i saw this weekend with NO helmet on at all.

if anyone knows George Adair Satterfield, 51, of Ontario, our sincerest condolensces from STR.

Careful out there guys....have fun, but stay in control. with the heat coming soon, many of us may be tempted to take a quick break from our helmets... don't even think about it. oh, and i have seen a helmetless rider get clobbered by a downhiller/hucker while on a climb. that rider got knocked out, had a concusion and a broken clavicle.

again, stay safe.

We saw a crazy without a helmet out in Turnbull on Saturday, we just tripped out, people don't realize what a difference a helmet can make.

that was my point. the rider in CHSP was wearing a helmet. even that will not save you life.

i commute in l.a. from the train station every day,and use a dirt jump helmet becuase of the thicker shell. traffic is'nt as bad, believe it or not, as it is in cucamonga. i use sidewalks at home becuase i'm ONLY a bike rider. i'd say use the helmet cause someone may want you home that nite. oh yah dress for the crash, not the ride.
