Default Fire?

Just opened the garage to go for a quick road ride and smell that distinct and awful smell of trees burning.

Anyone have the details?

I wish.

I'm in Irvine too and am now seeing ash fall like Dubjay said.

I think it's coming from the west - so that means either Bommer, Aliso or CC! Hopefully my eyes are deceiving me.

Better to smell trees burning then wires in your walls. Both suck but ones easier to find.

Just came back from a quick spin, the CNF is covered in a haze, but no visible flames.

Definitely not from the West.

There are nine fire engines working to fight off a fire behind University High School in Irvine, according to Mike Blawn of the Orange County Fire Authority. He said the fire, which has affected one acre of land, started at 2:25 p.m.
The cause is not known. Blawn is not aware of any injuries.
Blawn said he is not sure if the fire broke out in the wildlands or in a residential area but was on his way to the area. The Register is also heading out to the scene—check back for more information and photos.

I ride through that area on my 11 mile loop-out the front door "Shady Canyon Loop." The smoke was bad earlier, but it is much clearer now and I suspect our wonderful OC fire fighting crews have extinguished it.
