Default NBR I Got a Firewall Bypass Program

A friend gave me a chinese program that installs on your computer to surf the net w/o your boss or school in my case if you want PM me or email and I can send it to you, all you do is rename from a .JPG to an .exe file and it will self extract and you are ready to surf.

Be careful with programs like that! Anything with "chinese" in it can be a source of problems/spyware/malware when it comes to programs.

Oh boy, talk about opening-up a can of worms and asking for trouble.
I also have some beach front property in AZ. I'm willing to sell you for dirt cheap. Probably better odds then your Chinese Proxy software, which are a dime a dozen & free on the internet. My son and his classmates use such sites to get around their school's firewall and content blocks.

There are still plenty of free proxy servers (domains not blocked by most corporate IT/firewalls) out there. My questions are: What sites would you want to go to that you'd need this? You know even with proxy software, IT can see your internet traffic, and if I see a bunch of traffic to a single "proxy site" it raises more red flags than intermittent traffic to many sites.

I would also caution against using "free software" from China.

Yeah I would highly advise against this.

Well for two reasons one you don't know that software has in it, and two depending on what type of filter they have it won't work. Trust me this is coming from someone who for over two years did QA testing for a filter company. We also did a lot of testing on others to compare. I can tell you that the program would not work on our system, same with proxies, just about every trick we ever found was caught. That was years ago too so I can't even imagine what they have come up with now. Don't forget they also can find your history on your computer and depending on the company installing that software could be grounds for termination.

All the proxy servers I've heard of are blocked at my work.

I'd like to be able to access my personal e-mail at work, but all of the e-mail sites are also blocked. Additionally, I can't get to any "download" sites or many popular video and photo-hosting sites such as youtube. This is also why I can't see photos that people link out to.

all and all a horrible idea!
surfing personal sites at work = bad but not that bad

installing chinese software at work = bad enough to get fired.
