Default Anyone have opinions on this fork?

Marzocchi 55 Eta '08

The new-for-08 Marzocchi 55 is the perfect complement to today's crop of long-travel trailbikes. Stands up to the hurt put out by today's freeriders too. Built on the 55 chassis, the ETA model incorporates Marzocchi's Extension Travel Adjust - which limits travel to about 20mm and lowers the ride height for climbing - way better than a simple lockout.
  • Coil spring with air preload
  • TST Damper
  • Alloy 1 1/8" steerer tube with 35mm aluminum stanchions
  • 74mm post mount for disc brakes
  • new "QR type" 20mm dropouts for compatibility with today's 20mm throughaxle hubs
  • claimed 5.63 lbs
This is off Jensonusa's website.

I have a 130mm fork on my bike now but want to adjust hte rear of my bike to it's 150mm setting and get a fork with the same travel.

Any opinions on this fork?

I currently have the Marzocci Drop Off 1 and it has a lockout for climbing.

thanks
Jake

Hmm I just got my Marz 55 TST2 last friday at jenson right after my Manitou cracked. I have not tried it out on the trail yet, but as of now I'm pretty happy with it for only $325

Default 55 ETA Marzok

The 55 series is a solid fork with the 20 mill set up. I have the ETA lock out on mine, which is sweet for climbing. I hope you enjoy your new purchase. Ladera Dave

IMO, any marzocchi fork from 2008 is going to be a bit of a crapshoot. Their quality control has been pretty sketch this year with the shift to taiwanese production. Basically, if the forks work, they work amazingly. If they don't, they, well, don't.

good luck with whatever you get.
