Default The snakes are out

My bud and I set out on our usual Wednesday afternoon ride and ran into 5----yes 5, rattlers during our 14 miles. I was able to get good pics of the 2 biggest, each about 3 feet long.

That would be Lake Hodges in Escondido--North San Diego county.

Hodges used to my home turf when I was back in Carlsbad. How is that place doing? Did they ever finish building the expansion trails?

Pacman, have you ever ridden Daley Ranch?

Default Bonelli

I rode around 5pm at Bonelli and saw two rattlers on the trail north of the horse stables. I ride here about 2 times a week and for some reason I always see the snakes in the same area of this trail. Be careful keep your eyes and ears open.

What freaks me out about this is that at El Moro (where I usually ride 1-2x a week) some of the fireroads are like singletrack now with all of the vegetation growing

Hodges is OK. Same old trail basically. They are doing some kind of construction between Hernandez Hideaway and the dam (rumored to be many things, I'm not sure what exactly they are building) and the trail is closed just past HH. My friend and I ride there a couple times a week after work mainly because it is convenient.

I love Daley. It's a bit of an @$$ kicker, but a great trail if you know the good spots/good route.

I wish my camera had zoom. On the trail, I just use a cheap Kodak 2.0 megapixel that I got for $80. It's small and fits in my CamelBak easily, plus I don't care if it gets broken in a crash. I have a really nice Cannon 4.0 megapixel that cost a whole lot more and I just don't want to take the risk of breaking it.
