Default So I realize I need a new bike....

I have now had 2 rides organized by STR folks and have had a great time on both rides. However, after today, I realized that if I want a chance of keeping up on the downs, I need a new bike.

I was thinking about one of these to at least give me a chance of keeping the dawgs in site.....i figure since the STR guys are so cool they can pedal it up the hill for me and hand it over on the downs....seems fair, right?

Perhaps something dainty like a brooklyn machine works

or maybe another petite bike like the Nicolai Nucleon

I have never riden a downhill bike. I may just rent one this year in Mammoth, they had some fine choices last year.

if you want a bike with lots of suspension that you can ride uphill you might want to give a look into the gary fisher king fisher....its a freeride bike but only with a single crown not double crown, give you an extra inch of travel over a turner 6pack, i dont know what the weight is, but just get stronger legs to have more fun going down

Hey Rob.....Dave Turner likely would not sell a bike to FoShizzle anyway after taking so many shots at his cult members

and for what it is worth, i was only kidding about the new bike.....it was more of a compliment to the guys' skillz yesterday on the downs.....next time, depending on the trail, i will at least bring a bike with front suspension on the ride.

cheers

nice bikes, but try looking at the one, the only, bike to have, would be? you guessed it. a cannondale. try looking at the 4in. travel rush or 6in. travel prophet. both very capable up and downhill.

Hey man, the Prophet does look cool. However, the truth is that I have become such a girl on the downhills since I started single speeding....

As far as an FS bike, I actually do have one and my post was more of a joke....it is just that you guys shred!

here is my bike that I will bring next time.....it pretty much sits in my garage unused for months at a time, but I do love it when i ride it.

Hey Shark....i think you read that in the opposite direction my friend...I am a girly-man no matter what bike I am on.....my point was that with this bike, at least I can hide behind my girly-manness saying it was the bike's fault i could not keep up, when the truth is that I would have been lagging no matter what
