anytime dawg.....i am such a loser I am on my third single speed in the stable....it will be built in about a week. You are more than welcome to borrow any of them any time you want. You would probably enjoy it more than you think....heck, a year ago i would call anybody an idiot that rode a hardtail, let alone a single speed.....finally caved, bought a cheap surly from ebay and since then, have bought and sold 5 single speeds (I am pathetic...I know)....but in all honestly, it is the most fun overall i have had on a bike.

Eric, these So-Cal Trail Riders are not easy to talk into riding a SS. I have been teasing and offering for awhile and had no takers.

I guess we need to let them think that it is to hard and that we are crazy.

dude....it is only a matter of time.....they will cave once they realize that the Turner cult
aint got nothing on the 29er single speed cult yo' !

speaking of single speeds, i am losing my mind.....i decided to friggin turn into a weight weenie on the One 9....just got my warranty replacement frame yesterday. Got the Ninerbikes fork but decided I want to go silly light on the bike (shooting for 20 lbs or less).....ordered the Pace 29 fork yesterday (770 grams!).....gonna try the light 26" tube idea like others are doing and gonna put some lighter tires on....

i figure with the new ventana coming more rugged, no need for 2 bikes with suspension up front.

D- I took your bike for a quick spin during the trail work day Adam organized a while back. Not a real test but I got a sense of what the attraction is. The instant acceleration and lightness was pretty impressive. Maybe one of these days...

It's actually funny you guys are bringing this up. I have a Cove Stiffee frame and all the parts I need to build the bike up into a SS, and yet I still have no motivation whatsoever to do it

If I wasn't over the weight limit on the Pace Fork, I would have one on my bike. That is one of the reason I SS...to have the lightest bike that I can.
