Rob - Yes, I got them at Sea Otter. It took a little wrangling, but I was able to buy through Larry and take delivery right at Sea Otter. They were literally setting up their display when I grabbed the wheels and wouldn't give them back
Pain Freak - Weight with the bigger spokes and SS endcaps is a claimed 1640 gms. I'll weigh them when I get home to see how close the actual is. Quote:
Originally I was going to built it up on the cheap with used ebay stuff, etc, but when I saw yours that idea went out the window. Can't be outdone by the young punks and you set the bar pretty high. Even if I'll never catch you on the climbs, I'll look good trying. I'm just waiting for Larry to ship my stuff for the build. That guy works on his own schedule it seems. Hopefully in about a week. The I9 guys told me that as long as it's a stock color and rim, they usually keep them in stock so it's just shipping time from North Carolina. They offer a lot of custom options with different colors, fades on the spokes, powder coated rims, the sky is the limit. They had a bad-ass set of Enduros on display. Blue hubs, blue fade to silver spokes laced to white powder coated 5.1's. Perfect for my Spot.

Ha ha - yeah I forgot my camera in the truck. It was a muddy mess and I had to drag my bike up a couple sets of stairs to go back and get it so I said f it. We need to make a road trip up there next year. All the bike co's have full-on demo set-ups, tons of swag being given away, some of the XC racer chicks are hot, and BEER!

it is true.....VERY quick turnaround (~weekish) so long as you stick with stock stuff (red, black, silver I believe). They currently build all the wheelsets so you are not at the mercy of a backlogged wheelbuilder ON TOP of having to wait for you parts from a company. They will offer hub/spoke packages at some point, just not now. To put it another way, my silly wheelset had everything negative going for it......custom colored spokes, custom colored hubs, Maverick front hubs, 29er rims that are almost impossible to currently get. Not only did I9 make sure they got a hold of at least a few of the 29er rims I wanted (for me and a few other customers while the average shop could no way get any at this time), they worked quickly with Maverick to get the axle approved/blessed by them (necessary step of course)......and it still only took about a month I would say. Again, the things out of their control (rims/Maverick blessing) were the things that held it up. If you are like me, you will LOVE their customer service. In my humble opinion, there are a few companies out there that are in a complete league of their own when it comes to communication/customer service. In my opinion those companies are Ventana, Ninerbikes, Turner, Maverick, White Brothers, On-One, and Industry Nine. Though more coin, the customer service is just so huge for me......give em a call and see for yourself.... Quote:
