Hi Wednesday Night Riders (a crew of riders in Santa Monica)

When we were at the bar last night some low lives took a bolt cutter to my rack and stole my bike. I have attached some pictures of the bike and a description. Can you keep an eye out on the streets, in eBay and Craigs List to see if it appears.
I am devastated, I feel like I have I have lost a friend. I will be turning to a lot of you for your help in trying to put together something as sweet as I had.
Thanks for your support.

If I may ask, was it a roof type rack or a hitch type??? I have a roof rack and sometimes leave my bike locked on it.... I may not next time...

Sucks that her bike was stolen, but I have to say I would never want to leave my bike on a rack (locked or not) and go inside a bar/restaurant where I couldn't see my car. Its just asking for trouble. I'm really paranoid about that stuff, I've got too much time and money invested into my bikes.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I use a long cable to weave throughout my bike, I then lock it within the bed of my truck where the lock is below the surface of the bed where one can not get at it with cutters. Bad part is I've locked my keys in the cab by misstake and AAA had the door open in about 4 seconds, so it seems when theives want it, they'll get it. Thanks for all the help folks!

I guess that's the only benefit to living in the middle of nowhwere... Nobody to jack my bike. At least that's what I tell myself.

That's a nicely setup Enduro. Hope she gets it back, and in the same condition it was taken. Best of luck to Mandy...

This makes at least 10 different thefts I know of within the last 3 weeks. Seems the drug fiends have found out they can get a little bit more crack for a good mountain bike. Be careful, they are also hitting garages when people are gone. They will stake a place out now for a good bike. I did and still do use a good anti-theft type cable. Once we even caught a junkie trying to steal my bike, but he couldn't cut the cable. Poor guy fell down and got hurt too . I've got 3 bikes inside my house in my spare room, but my wife is getting a little upset with the arraingment, so I might have to move them to the garage. I will lock them up though. I also have 2 different alarms for my home, and we have 3 cops that live within shouting distnce from my front door.
