Default NEW BIKE!!!!...Addition to the Stable

WOO HOO!!!! I got a new bike today!!! Thanks to Tani and the rest of the crew at the Path. I picked up a 2008 15" Redline Monocog 29er SS. Yup, I'm gonna try the 29er thing and SS to boot! This is probably going to be my daily rider since I'm going to be leaving it here at work, I can't ride as much on the weekends anymore. Hopefully my full squish doesn't get too jealous . I'll post up the pics soon.

Sounds good to me. Like I said, I haven't had much time to ride my full squish and when I do, it kicks my big ole butt. I figure if I start riding the SS during the week, I'll be able to fully enjoy my Pitch. It's kinda sad, the last time I was able to ride my full squish was when me and Democruhcy (STR member that lives down the street from you) road to Anaheim from Corona to plot out a route for him to ride to work. I wish I could ride to work, but Corona to Lake Forest is still a little out of my reach.
Let me get used to the SS and we'll do that ride.

Congrats... The monocog's a good ride. Sure, your squishie'll get jealous so you'll just have to ride it more to make it feel "better"

Congrats...you'll love the SS & 29" combo. What's the gearing ratio? Rigid or front suspension?

Let's see some pics already!!!

SS, I think the gearing is 32x20 and its full rigid. The only thing I replaced were the pedals. Sorry for the background....you can't really see the bike. I'll take better pics when I have the time.

How much if you don't mind me asking. Been curious about Redline pricing. Seems like allot of bike for the buck.

Nice Jayman. Rigid, SS, Vee-brakes, very simple and functional and pure. I've gotta a buddy who has an old 26'er redline and he's beat the hell out of that bike and it's still rollin'.

Post up a RR when you get it out there.

http://www.redlinebicycles.com/adult...ocog-29er.html

MONOCOG 29er

Quality & Value rolled into one… gear that is.

Durable full chromoly frame, disc brake compatible. Smooth riding chromoly fork. Tektro alloy linear type brakes provide excellent stopping power. Redline Aluminum cranks with appropriate 32 X 16T gearing. Sturdy, smooth rolling Redline sealed bearing hubs laced up to 29” Alex DH19 rims. Available in 4 sizes ( 15”-21”) center to top. Also available in a 26” wheel.

Im not questioning anything all I know is if I was on a 32/16, my legs would fall right off...

SAD thing for me is that was the last time I rode too...I'm going to try that route this weekend. I woke up too late last weekend...

I like the new rig. Let's break her in. Let me know.

Well, I was quoted a price in the $420's.......15% off 29er stuff........you can do the math......under $400 for a complete bike .

You should see what Cid does on his Monocog. He loves that thing, and he kills it.

Yeah those are tough bikes! I have a frame for sale right now on craigslist if anyone is interested. I would let it go to an STRer for cheap. It would be the start of a great SS build. I'll put it up for sale here in a day or so. It's a 19" but feels a little smaller. PM me for some info. It's a great frame but I had to go geared.

its a 29? so 20T is actually 18T, I was on my 20T 26 SS and I nearly died climbing(word used loosely, mostly walking) cholla, but a 20T on the flats should be great to keep the momentum going.
