Default Help in Re-building my Stable

[SIZE=2]Hey all - could use some good opinions here.
I was happily running a 2006 Transition Preston FR as an AM/Light FR rig. I always ran it in the 5" travel position, and the build was ~36-37lbs. I rode that bike on epic all-days, days in a row, in Moab, Fruita, etc. I also did 3'-5' drops to flat and 6'-10' to transition. After 14 months of riding, I broke the left chain stay in half.

Transition moved me into a 2007 DirtBag. The build is 40.25lbs. and 6.7" travel. I love the way it hucks, drops, and takes DHs. But I am working so much harder and it tends to slow down in the flowy single-track. So I started looking for an AM frame to round out the stable.

I wanted a 6-7lb bike with 5"-6" travel. Although I'll leave the hucking to the DirtBag, the AM will be required to regularly hit 3' drops, lesdges, and serious rock gardens.
I narrowed it down to Morewood Shova ST (7lbs/5.7") and Canfield Bros Sauce (6lbs/5"-6").

When I asked Canfield Bros about my situation, they said The Sauce would not cut it and told me to go with The One (7lbs/7"-8"!). I still haven't heard back from Morewood.

Question: Do you think these bikes would be redundant with my DirtBag? I also hae a light Vagrant hard tail that can ride the rough stuff, but I really wanted an AM FS. But it HAS to be strong because I just can't hold back once I hit the trails :-)

Thoughts?

Sounds like you've had a pretty good experience with Transition (minus the breakage), any reason you're not considering a Bottlerocket? It would seem to fit your wants/needs pretty well, especially since it sounds like you're not afraid to let the rubber leave the ground.

buy one of each and try them both.
Whichever one you dont like sell.
Heck, you may like one better than your dirtbag

You might want to consider a Giant Reign, it seems to fit the bill --- and they have a lifetime frame warranty. Giant is not super spendy yet they are great bikes.

Definitely thought about the BottleRocket, but was hoping to go with something that's a good all-day-in the saddle ride. Just not sure the geo of the BR fits the bill.

a new trek remedy?? lifetime frame warranty also, and they look pretty damn nice. plus you'd be able to get one in the dirt for way less than building up from the frame.

That being said, morewoods and the canfield bros. frames are real nice looking, and I don't know what your spare parts selection is, so you might be able to build it up cheaper.
