Default New BMX Cruiser thread!

So we were posting in sdyeti's thread and i did not notice it was a "want to buy thread". Anyway....

I got a new bike!!

Thanks to Lee and Carla for the peer pressure. It's all their fault. They made me buy it! (thats what I told Veronica). My arm is still hurting from all the twisting. Brian at "THE PATH" made it happen(thanks man).

It's been over 25 years(i can't belive I just said that out loud) since I have been on a BMX track. Going out there the last 4 or 5 fridays and taking pictures made me want a new BMX bike. So I got one!

The first run on the track was a little twitchy but after that it was all good. I did back to back laps straight from 6 to 7:30. I'll be honnest, I was a little beat towards the end(just a little). I did not jump or do any manuals but was able to get around the track at a good pace. I'm looking forward to learning how to ride my new BMX bike.

HUGH

Oh and it looks SWEET hangin in the garage !

Damn, I forgot to emphasize to you how tired you're supposed to be. I'm totally wasted after practicing and racing. Ah well...I wish I had your stamina (but I'm too lazy to work for it).

And it felt twitchy only for the first lap? Geez! It still feels twitchy to me!...But I digress...that's the responsiveness is what I like the most (I won't be saying that after I get my 20" bike out to the track).

From your first time out to (or back to?) the track a few months ago, I knew it was a matter of time until you had a BMX bike. I can't wait to see what bling you have in mind.

Congratulations!

Hugh took a great photo of my cruiser up against the same fence a week ago...but I haven't seen it yet.

Here's a different one from Hugh...

Sweet rig Hugh...

Now, people want to know...ok, I want to know what the story behind Gumby is? I know your Moots has one, so is it just your green sidekick or what?

Gumby has been on all my bicycles since I was 4ish. My first one was a small gumby on a key chain I used to hang from the bars. Then when I was older Gumby was always on my BMX bikes and Schwinn cruiser.
When I got back into cycling in late 2002 My mom brought over my old Gumby from when I was about 14 to put on my new mountain bike. She brought it over as a joke. Well now he is on all of my bicycles. To tell you the truth, I would not have ridden my new bike without Gumby!

I've been fighting the urge to pick up a 24" BMX for the Simi Valley and Camarillo tracks. The urge is winning....

Great looking bike!

I might have to check that out. Is it for sale or is it just a backup bike? I want to go to a practice day.

haha well then cool!

I've actually been thinking about an S&M. Wanted one since the first time I saw a real BMX flying off of dirt jumps... That Intense definitely looks nice though.
