Ever have a jump that you never hit but always wanted to?

When I first started mountain bike riding in 1998, a buddy of mine took me to the Kenter Whoops. I loved the place but I didn't have a DH bike. I just had a GT hardtail. I never hit any of the doubles or anything. I saw that canyon/gully/ravine/gap or whatever you wanna call it and thought I would never, ever be able to hit it.

I stopped riding there a long time ago but I was always mad at myself for never hitting it. I would always say "someday I will do it." It isn't a difficult jump, it's just that there is like a 15' hole you jump over.

Last weekend, I was going to do it but we left cause it was too hot and we were hungry. It messed with me all week. I called Downhillphil and said I HAD to hit it this weekend.

It's been 10 years and I FINALLY hit it! Here it is on video>>>

Plenty of jumps I have wanted to hit!

There were (2) ladder drops at Turnbull I always wanted to hit.
Never had what I thought was a big enough bike!
Unfortunately, an angry Parks Ranger has them torn down... Not once but twice!

Pretty wicked Dirt Jumps.... Yes, I said wicked!

How 'bout posting up some of the big doubles? Gaps?
Some of those jumps are scary to even stand next to!

Note: There are a couple of dudes in their 50's who absolutely launch off those jumps.
They seemed to be rather well known locals! UNBELIEVABLE!

There is this guy, Curtis. He is 57 years old. He is one of the main builders there. The guy is great! Hitting these H-U-G-E doubles at that age. Very cool to see....

How big is that gap? It good to get over that fear isn't.

I know the more I look at something the more I get worried about doing something and the harder it gets to do it. It seems to get worse the older I get, or maybe its just the fact that I actually check things more now then I did when I was younger.

P.S.- For those wanting to pay the trail a visit, unless you spend A LOT of time in the air AND you are a fan of big dirt jumps.... Uh, if you are SHORT (on a double), the impact WILL leave a mark.

I hit it on my Socom....most people prefer their big bikes. I do see a lot of DJ bikes though.
