Southern Gate on Main Divide Open
I couldn't remember where and who (dino?) posted asking about the main divide gates, so I made a new thread.
Anyway, I took the dog out to BlueJay for a much needed hike in the mountains and checked out the status of the gate while I was at it. The gate just up from BlueJay was open on Tues. 14 Feb 2006. It was a good hike but it made me want to do the San Juan shuttle again real bad.

As of last Saturday the MapleSprings gate was closed. I'm guessing because of fires. I wonder if the gates will remail closed because the Warriors race up there in 2 weeks. Its defintely more enjoyable climbing Maple when theres no trucks flying by you. Ive never had that experience but I could imagine itd suck after actually offroading next to the bikers
 Anyone know if they fixed the big drop on the first MapleSprings crossing? My towing hitch or something smacked the ground last time  |

Maple Springs was closed for repairs and for the fire but its supposed to be open this weekend. The Main Divide is still open to bikers hikers and vehicles during the Pow Wow.
