Mine ends in 79, BUT I did DD. So hopefully soon! I could use some stimulation!

It's gonna pay for the 8.25 29-spline Chrysler axle, No-Slip diff, Yukon axle shafts and ZJ disc brakes that are sitting in the garage waiting to go on my Jeep.

I spent mine ahead of time and just waiting for the check to arrive to pay the bill for the bike parts I bought.

Mine was direct deposited this morning.

While I think the stimulus is generally a bad fiscal idea, and we are grossly over-taxed to begin with, its hard to be upset when Uncle Sam direct deposits over a grand right into your checking account for no reason.

Oh, there's a reason. It's called an election year.

Maybe everyone understands or doesn't but I, for one, wasn't clear on the details. Here's a good clarification, in case some think it's unconditional free money...

Is this a rebate? What is it a rebate on?

The funds are NOT a rebate on the taxes you will pay next year, they are based on your 2007 tax return. Next year, after you file your taxes, the IRS will calculate what you should’ve gotten and adjust your return. So if you received too much “rebate,” they let you keep it. If you received too little, they decrease what you owe next year.

I will only post this one more time & then i'm quiet.

Copied from the 2 other threads I posted in 2 days ago

This is not a REBATE, You will not be taxed by the Fed or State of CA, for this check. It is based off income from your 2007 tax return but is a 2008 Stimulus Payment.

Taken directly from the IRS website:
From this link close to the bottom:
http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/...179181,00.html

Quote:
"Q. Is my Stimulus Payment taxable?
A. No. You will not owe tax on your payment when you file your 2008 federal income tax return. But you should keep a copy of the IRS letter you receive later this year listing the amount of your payment."

&

Q. Will the payment I receive in 2008 reduce my 2008 refund or increase the amount I owe for 2008?
A. No, the Stimulus Payment will not reduce your refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.
Oh and BTW: when I click on his link for Tax Professionals:

this guy wants paid! Be wary of were info comes from, Usually I refer directly to the IRS, and call if I still don't get what I need.
http://www.chateaumezcal.com/2008-ta...e-donation.htm

The IRS has a free calculator and our Tax software will do the same thing for us, so i'm not sure what Tax guy would be using his

Why would anyone think this is a rebate?
Take it as it is, a way for the Feds to get people to loosen up the purse strings.....

This is also just a very small amount of what I paid them in 2007.

The better question is are they going to tax it in 2008 and take some back?
Here ya go, now pay me back....

Those who are getting one would surely rather be in your situation (assuming you filed your taxes). You won't get much sympathy around here!
