Default Kenda Dred Tread Review

Just thought I’d shear my ride report on the Kenda Dred Tred UST 2.1 tires.
I have been running 2.1 Nevegal UST front and rear for last couple of years, with my only complaint being the traction for climbing took a hit when they wear a bit …and they wear fast.
Not wanting to be the Guinea pig I tried to find a decent review on the Dreds, but couldn’t find anything useful. After some debate on buying another set Nevegals or maybe going with the Small Block Eights I decided to try something new and went with the Dred Treads, and I’m very happy I did. They are the perfect compromise for me, on the hard pack they hook-up better than my Nevegals but in the lose stuff the tread pacing is more open than the Small blocks, so the tires don’t skate across the marbles and adheres predictably. So far I have a couple of hundred miles on them and the wear is better than my Nevegals, oh and these tires roll!

Just my opinion and thoughts, on a tire I never seen mentioned here.

Cheers,
Smitty

Thanks for the review!

I scored a pair of Dred Tred 1.8's last weekend for getting 2nd @ Hurkey(5 man team). I've been staring at them for 2 days wondering if I should try them or not.

....if they were 2.1's I'd give them a go based on your review. I just can't bring myself to run a 1.8.

....although the Traverse is coming up and 1.8 would be great for climbing Main Divide...

....but 1.8 would suck on the rocky sections of Trabuco.
