I was trying to watch my Laker game and kept hearing helicopters and sirens. I went outside and noticed the 'copters circling just north of my house in the foothills of Sierra Madre. Fire seems to be in the vicinity of the Mt. Wilson Trail, between Mountain Trail and Santa Anita Blvd. Smoke seems thick. It's hot and there's a slight breeze, which isn't a good thing. Let's hope this is not going to snow ball out of control and they get a hold of it quickly.

No, I don't think it can the ground cover for the most part is still way to green. I'm sure they can knock it down in no time.......

it's growing quickly & flames are now clearly visible. the neighborhood is behaving nervously. I left with my kids. I might go back & get my dog out of there. just in case.

Much cooler down here by the beach where I am today must be pretty hot closer to home inland 909?

I just refreshed the cam shot and the smoke is considerably less. Hope that means what I assume it means.

Saw it off the freeway on the way home today. Scary stuff to see that happening. Hope its undercontrol quickly.

I've been on the roof for the last 30 minutes surveying what's going on and snapping some pics. Air strikes seems to me much more concerned in the lower lying residential areas for obviously reasons. I've noticed flair-ups higher up the ridge line and they don't seem too be concerned about it. The hills that are burning is up near the Sumac Trail (just east) in Sierra Madre, which is one ridge line to the east from the Mt. Wilson Trail.

Very close. If you remember where I lived when you followed me home to get Dean's shock. Well, it's half way between Santa Anita (the road to Chantry) and my house. It's burning right now but it's further up the mountain so they don't seem too concerned. I haven't heard any air activity in a couple of hours. I wonder if they're just letting it burn itself out.

Funny how kids are. So long as they're entertained, they could care less. While I was on the roof earlier snapping some pics, my daughter and her BFF were in the back yard doing some water play. Gotta love it!

Was just announced locally. The area is being evacuated. I'm out here with my kids and with very little. I hope they control this and soon!
