Default I'm getting the new 06 Fox DHX Air 5.0 for $150

I took in my bike to Rock and Road to fix my rim that was stuck on my bike with a flat. While I'm there the guy is like "if you want we can swap out your specialized 5th element for the new Fox DHX 5.0". My 5th element was working fine so I was like no thanks. Then he says it only $150, because specialized will pick up the rest of the tab. That's $350 off retail price so I went for it without even thinking about it twice. My 5th element has allready had to be serviced once and it bottoms out really easily. However I have read some issues with the new Fox getting stuck down, so hopefully this issue has been resolved. Should be in by next weekend.

Nice deal Steve! I had an issue with my DHX air already after only 2 months. It didn't get stuck down but I had a bad seal. Fortunately it is easy enough to work on and I figured out the problem and called Fox who promptly sent me out a new seal kit. It has been working better than new ever since then.

Damn that's a sweet deal!

Man, I wish someone would be like "Dude, you want a brand new awesome 5 - 6 inch travel bike with high end components for $150?"

Something tells me I shouldn't hold my breath...

Default Dhx 5.0

Steve - Check on the MTBR Specialized board about this. I seem to recall that the DHX-A used on the Enduro was a different design but I don't recall what the difference was and I'm too lazy to look. Even so, for $150 it's a great deal and you'll have a spare.

I think you're right Craig, I believe the bottom out adjustment knob is removed and the bottom out is preset because of clearance issues.

Edit, and it sounds like he won't have a spare.....pretty sure they make you give your old shock to them.

Rob is right, I'm swapping the shocks so I'll have to send the old one back.

As for having the shock by Sat. ride I don't think that will happen, but we will have to wait and see.

The thought did cross my mind!!! But there would still be the matter of a few hundred dollars that can't be accounted for with the meager salary of a lecturer...
