Default Owning up to an unknown mistake

So I'm pretty embarrassed to say the least but I really don't like to mislead people (unless for personal financial gain) so I wanted to let all of you know that I made a mistake on the weight of my bike.
For those of you that picked it up at Hurkey and secretly thought;"21 pounds?? No ef'n way!"
I really thought it was about that weight and my scale said it was about that weight and my beloved mechanic that comes to my house to work on all 11 of our bikes said it was about that weight, of course he's 265 lbs of solid muscle so an anchor probably feels like 21 pounds to him.
I took it to the shop today, it weighed about 24. I flipped and took it across the street to our vet and weighed it on the dog scale and it weighed 25.

I'm so depressed. I was really hoping for under 24 when I was doing the original build on it and to think it was a bit over 21 lbs made me so happy.
So now I'm selling it and it's all yours for just...aw,just kidding, it still rides like a dream but I had to let you all know I was screwed..I mean I made a mistake on the weight.
Is that still a good weight for a full suspension? I don't even know. I think you can get carbon bikes for less weight but I don't really care for carbon.
Also, I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate each and every one of you that complimented the bike in person at Idyllwild or in the original write-up.
When I recently rode with a 'friend', the most complimentary thing she could say about the bike was to ask me why I didn't bring my Santa Cruz on the ride?? WTF? Are you on drugs? If you got a new bike, even if I was green with envy (sdyeti) I would congratulate you on your new ride. Acknowledge it even if I was dying inside! That's what friends do, right?
So thanks to all of you that I barely know for being a real friend even for a brief moment and helping me,and ALL of us when we get a new ride, share in the moment!

Fortunately or not, I don't remember. But my nickname is colander head so that's not surprising!

I think you should seel that ugly POS.

What's your price???

24 pounds? I don't think you can legally even call it a mountain bike.

Did you weigh her in the morning or the evening? You know that always makes a difference of a pound or two. Oh wait, I don't think that applies to bikes. Oops, never mind!

24 lbs. is silly light for a f/s bike. Unless you plan on racing expert or pro, I don't see why you'd care. It's a great bike with an awesome build. Enjoy the hell out of it!

Dearest Camp Tramp--did you check the bars and seat tube? Maybe somebody took pity on you and stuffed 'em full of trail mix or something .

24 is super light for a FS bike. My 4" travel FS "Team Issue" KHS came in at 26 and my "soft tail" is 24-ish. You've got a nice rig there; shred with pride.

Just keep trimming those bars a bit more. I'm sure you can lose a bit more weight on that bike if you have the grips sticking out of the stem.

Actually, who needs a stem..

Plenty of ways to reduce weight if you get creative.

For the record, I met that bike on the friday Idlywild ride and I WAS jealous of such a light Ti FS, but I do not feel betrayed or lied to to find out how porky it's "real" weight is. It's a beautiful bike on the inside and it has a great personality.

Are you kidding me?! 24lbs is REALLY light for a FS. My Yeti 575 is 28+. I didn't even know Merlin was making FS frames. What year is it and how much travel does it have? Looks like an awesome bike.
Is that what you're riding Sunday?

Ahhh...it was Ladd Jasper with the Sweet Cajun trailmix in the handlebars! I foiled your evil plan!!

Dirtmistress...that bike is still smoking hot even if it's a couple more pounds. More importantly, ya feel like a rock star when you ride it, don't ya? C'mon...admit it!! See, that won't change b/c of the scale!

Dirtmistriss, that’s a very nice bike with great components and it looks good so take it out and enjoy it. 24 lbs is light for a FS bike, be happy I ride a XL so I will never have a 24 lb bike.
